2nd Annual Food as Medicine Symposium

Following the success of our Inaugural Food As Medicine Symposium in 2021, the BNMC is excited to announce the second annual event “A Bridge to Health”, to be held October 13th, 2022 at the University of Buffalo Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences. There will also be an option for participants to join virtually. This year’s Symposium will bring renowned speakers from across the country together with our own local experts working in the Food As Medicine space to speak about the advances in this important field and spur a call to action to continue to move the needle toward better health outcomes for our region. Last year’s event saw academics, healthcare practitioners, medical school students and residents, health insurance payers, community activists, non-profit executives, and a public audience come together to hear from an exciting line-up of over fifteen local and national experts in the field. Further strengthening the Food as Medicine movement in Western New York,   the BNMC has organized the Western New York Food As Medicine Coalition composed of 35 local organizations in the health field. The Food as Medicine movement represents a diverse network of local, regional, state, and national organizations that are trying to bridge the gap between healthcare systems and food systems with the focus on shifting the human health paradigm for the better.  BNMC’s Second Annual Food As Medicine Symposium will provide a space to gain knowledge, collaborate, and grow Food As Medicine programs locally as well as learn from and add to the overall national movement.
